How SBI Mutual Fund SIPs work

SBI Mutual Fund is managed by SBI Funds Management Limited (SBIFML), a joint venture between State Bank of India and Amundi. An SIP with SBI Mutual Fund follows the same SEBI-regulated process as any other AMC: a fixed amount is auto-debited on the SIP date via NACH mandate, and units are allotted at that day’s NAV. The SEBI standard formula — FV = P × ((1+r)^n − 1)/r × (1+r) — governs all projections identically across AMCs. This calculator uses that formula; the “SBI” framing is for search context only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this calculator specific to SBI Mutual Fund?
The underlying math is the SEBI standard SIP formula — completely AMC-neutral. The FAQ context is framed around SBI because that's the keyword you searched. The widget is bank-agnostic.
What is the minimum SIP for SBI Mutual Fund?
Most SBI Mutual Fund schemes accept SIPs starting at ₹500/month. Some SBI Blue Chip or SBI Magnum plans may have different minimums. Always check the current SID for accurate floor amounts.
Can I start an SBI Mutual Fund SIP via YONO?
Yes. SBI's YONO app integrates SBI Mutual Fund for existing SBI bank account holders. You can also invest via the SBI MF website, SBI Securities, or third-party brokers. CKYC completion is required.
Are SBI Mutual Fund SIPs eligible for Section 80C?
Only SBI ELSS schemes (e.g., SBI Long Term Equity Fund) qualify under §80C — up to ₹1.5L/FY with a 3-year lock-in per instalment. Other SBI MF categories do not qualify. See our [§80C calculator](/tax/80c-deduction-calculator/).
Do you recommend specific SBI Mutual Fund schemes?
**No.** BachatCalculator is a calculator-only platform under AMFI ARN-286359. Our tools provide financial math education, not fund selection guidance. Investment decisions require personal due diligence or a SEBI-registered adviser.
Is SBI Mutual Fund government-owned?
SBI Funds Management Limited (SBIFML) is a joint venture between State Bank of India (63%) and Amundi (37%). It is regulated by SEBI. Being government-affiliated does not guarantee fund returns — all equity and hybrid SIPs carry market risk.
